Money Math(TM), Shareware Version 1.1, INSTALLATION AND REGISTRATION
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Money Math(TM), v1.1 <ASP>, Financial Analysis Tools for Windows 3.1
Money Math(TM), v1.1 <ASP>, provides financial analysis tools capable of
calculating Annuities, Bank Discount, Bonds, CD's, Compound Interest,
Discounted Cash Flow, Loan Amortization, and Simple Interest in ten
different dialog boxes. Overall, more than forty-five different unknown
variables can be calculated. Extensive Windows help is available for each
calculation dialog box including twelve detailed examples. Requires
Windows 3.1.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Money Math requires, as a minimum, an IBM AT or compatible computer with
Windows 3.1 installed and running. The current memory in your computer
should be adequate if you are able to use other Windows 3.1 applications
satisfactorily. The hard disk space needed is less than 150 kilobytes.
Money Math will not run with Windows 3.0, use only Windows 3.1.
MONEY MATH INSTALLATION
You will probably receive Money Math in one of two ways. In the first
way, you will have a floppy with the seven individual files listed
below:
MONYMATH.EXE - Money Math executable for Windows 3.1
MONYMATH.HLP - Money Math help for Windows 3.1
REGISTER.TXT - Registration form for Users
README.TXT - Getting Started Documentation
INSTALL.EXE - Installation Program for Money Math
VENDOR.TXT - Vendor/Sysop Information
FILE_ID.DIZ - BBS description of Money Math
If you have a disk with the seven files, use the instructions given in
the section below titled, "USING THE INSTALL PROGRAM".
The second way to receive Money Math is in a compressed file or archive.
The compressed file name should be MOMATH1.xxx where xxx indicates which
file compression utility was used. In this case, use the suggestions
given in the section titled, "INSTALL FROM A COMPRESSED FILE".
If you prefer to install Money Math manually, copy the first four files
listed above to the directory of your choice. Install the four files in
the Windows Group of your choice, from the Program Manager "File" menu,
by selecting "New..."
USING THE INSTALL PROGRAM
To install Money Math, start up Windows 3.1 and put the Money Math
floppy disk in Drive A. From the Windows Program Manager "File" menu,
select "Run". Type "A:INSTALL" in the box that appears. After you press
"ENTER" or click on the "OK" button, the Install program will start on
the floppy drive. If you are installing from B drive, substitute the
letter B for the letter A above.
The Install program will copy the Money Math files to a new directory
titled "MONEY" on your hard drive (C:). You will have an opportunity to
revise the directory and installation location. Click on the "OK"
button or press the "ENTER" key to start the file transfer to the
directory you selected.
The Install program will also create a Windows Group named "Money Math"
and put the Money Math icons in that group. You may move the Money Math
icons to another group later if desired.
INSTALL FROM A COMPRESSED FILE
If you received Money Math as a single file such as MOMATH1.ZIP, copy
this file to a temporary directory on your hard disk. Next, decompress
the file using the decompression utility program. The DOS command might
be PKUNZIP MOMATH1.ZIP if that compression utility was used to compress
the file. Several other compression/decompression utilities are in
common use. You can probably obtain the correct utility from the same
place you obtained the Money Math archive.
If the Money Math archive file name is MOMATH1.EXE, you decompress it by
running it as you would any DOS program. No other utilities are needed.
Once the archive file is decompressed, you should have the seven files
listed above in your temporary directory. Now you can install Money
Math as described above in the section titled, "USING THE INSTALL
PROGRAM". Instead of typing "A:INSTALL" in the "Run" dialog box, you
would type, "C:\TMP\INSTALL", where C:\TMP is the current hard drive and
directory where the seven files are located.
RUNNING MONEY MATH
To start Money Math, double-click the mouse on the Money Math icon.
From the keyboard, use the Arrow keys to move to the Money Math icon and
then press the "ENTER" key.
To maneuver in Money Math, use the same keys that you use in Microsoft
Windows. For more information on using Windows keys, see your Windows
manual Appendix C.
All of the Calculation edit boxes that have a rectangle frame respond
similarly to a word processor or text editor.
Selecting "Exit" from the "File" menu item closes Money Math. You can
also use the Alt+F4 key combination to do the same thing.
MONEY MATH DOCUMENTATION
All of the Money Math features are documented in Money Math Help. You
can select the "Help" menu item from within Money Math or you can double
click on the "Money Math Help" icon. Either way, the Windows Help program
will run Money Math Help. All of the items listed below are fully
documented in Money Math Help including 12 Money Math Calculation examples
and a Search index with over 200 items.

DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before
buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are
expected to purchase it by registering. Individual programs differ on
details -- some request registration while others require it, some
specify a maximum trial period. With registration, you get anything from
the simple right to continue using the software to an updated program
with printed manual.
Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software, and the
copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as
stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like
commercial authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (In both
cases, there are good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in
the method of distribution. The author specifically grants the right to
copy and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a
specific group. For example, some authors require written permission
before a commercial disk vendor may copy their Shareware.
Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You should
find software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's
commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs
easier, because you can try before you buy. And because the overhead is
low, prices are low also. Shareware has the ultimate money-back
guarantee -- if you don't use the product, you don't pay for it.
ASP STATEMENT
This program is produced by a member of the Association of Shareware
Professionals (ASP). ASP wants to make sure that the shareware
principle works for you. If you are unable to resolve a shareware
related problem with an ASP member by contacting the member directly,
ASP may be able to help. The ASP Ombudsman can help you resolve a
dispute or problem with an ASP member, but does not provide technical
support for members' products. Please write to the ASP Ombudsman at 545
Grover Road, Muskegon, MI USA 49442-9427, FAX 616-788-2765, or send a
